Houston, We Have a Playmate
(Katy, Texas) Today, Igloo released new Playmate coolers inspired by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), paying homage to NASA’s vision: To discover and expand knowledge for the benefit of humanity. The special-edition NASA Worm Logo Playmate Pal and NASA Mission Patches Playmate Pal are available now at igloocoolers.com/nasa.
“As a Houston-based company, we’ve always been proud of and inspired by NASA’s dedicated program of space exploration and discovery,” said Brian Garofalow, Chief Marketing Officer at Igloo. “And with World Space Week currently underway, we knew it was the perfect time to celebrate NASA by releasing these two new NASA-inspired Playmate coolers. We hope that everyone can proudly enjoy their chilled drinks and snacks, all while displaying support for the beloved American institution.”
NASA’s time-honored history and reverence within the U.S. runs similarly with that of Igloo, an American brand that helped make the family outdoor recreation movement of the 20th century possible. While not quite as innovative as putting a man on the moon, the Igloo Playmate is on display in the Smithsonian for its unique, innovative design, originating in 1971, that has since become the world’s most recognizable cooler.
Each new NASA-inspired Playmate features custom NASA artwork on the cooler’s tent top, including symbolic mission patches and the iconic worm logo along with a graphic honoring when NASA made history in 1981 by achieving the first space shuttle mission with the Columbia spacecraft. With a 7-quart capacity, each NASA-inspired Playmate is built to keep refreshments ice-cold—up to nine 12-ounce cans—throughout the day.
The red NASA Worm Logo Playmate Pal and blue NASA Mission Patches Playmate Pal are available now, each for $39.99, while supplies last.
